I am not one to get sick often but when I do, I am down for weeks at a time. Just over a week ago, I got a really bad cold where my ears plugged up, I had sore throat and some serious congestion. Over the weekend I self- medicated with every cold, flu, cough and congestion OTC med I could find. A coworker gave me about 6pks of this Emergen-C Immune Defense and suggested that I began to take two or three each day for the next couple of days. Sure, I was skeptical because I spent nearly $60 on meds that didn't help much so I didn't believe these little drink mixes were going to be any different but I was soooo wrong.
By the next day, I wouldn't say I was overloaded with energy but I did feel a little boost and realized that my ears were unplugged. Not only could I taste my food at lunch, my throat wasn't as sore as it had been. By the end of the day the mucus in my chest had started to loosen and come up without the nasty cough that it usually takes. So, on my way home, I stopped at the Whole Foods Market to pick up some of this stuff and they even had some for kids.
I never thought of those herbal remedies or supplements as anything more than a legalized scam before but the Emergen-C proved me wrong. I can honestly say that the Immune Defense brand helped me to feel a lot better a lot sooner than I would have just riding out that cold.

This is the best stuff I have found for colds, flu, etc. When I feel like I am coming down with a cold, I take one in the morning. If I'm too late, and I already have the cold, I take two per day and feel almost normal for the duration of the cold. The stuff is amazing. The only time I have a full blown cold is if I'm out of immune defense. I have a toddler and, while other folks I know are sick all the time with their kids, I never get sick. As for the taste, I add 12 ounces of water, then sweeten it up and add lemonade to make it taste better, but my husband, who isn't as partial to sweetness, takes it straight and he likes the taste.Product Review: It works everytime!

We have been using this product for more than 3 years now. My entire family uses it any time we feel we are coming down with cold or sore throat. The taste does take some getting used to, but now we actually like the taste too. Immediately after drinking it, you feel hydrated and energized. It definitely seems to help fight infections and improve immunity. We have tried other similar products, but we found Emergen-c Immune Defense Ruby Lemon fuzzy drink works the best.Product Review: Lots of vitamins and minerals, flavor is okay

I really like that it contains so many vitamins. Unlike the regular Emergen-C, this contains 100% your daily value of zinc. However, too much zinc makes me nauseous so I wouldn't take more than a couple of these in a day. The flavor isn't the best in my opinion. It's okay, but I like the Acai berry, tropical, or super orange flavors better. However, I think this would really be great to use while sick. I gave some to my 3.5 year old yesterday as she's had a bit of a cold (half a packet at a time). We'll see if it helps!
