For perspective on this review - Fair complexion, dark hair, average beard and sensitive skin
My history with DE razors is limited to a Parker (with a 2010 head) and this Jagger razor. The Jagger seems to be much less aggressive vs the Parker. The space between the safety bar and the edge of the blade is smaller with this razor. The three piece design also seems to hold the blade in place more securely vs the butterfly mechanism on the Parker.
I've sampled several razor blades and pretty much everything but Feathers give me razor burn with the Parker. However with this Jagger, I can use Derby, Dorco and Feather without any irritation. Some of this may be poor technique on my part.
I've read several reviews that suggested a longer handle razor. I personally see no benefit to the longer handles as they seem to engourage you to use more pressure which is a no, no with these razors. The shorter handle works fine for me. In my opinion, I have better control with this vs the longer handle.
With a less aggressive razor you may have more 'touch ups' to make for that perfect shave, but for zero razorburn, I'm more than willing to live with that. The only negative (which is a minor one) about this razor is the lack of grip on the handle. It may be a blessing in disguise as it forces you to focus on holding the razor correctly and using no pressure.
In my limited experience, this is so far my favorite razor. Fit and finish is great with this item. You won't be disappointed.
