Product Review: Pretty Cool - Hard to use

I was really excited to try this scale out. I was a litle disappointed in how difficult it is to use. There is a manual but it is hard to find the foods you want. They are not categorized very well. However, when I did find the foods I was weighing it was very helpful. It just takes time to get used to everything. It is cool that is weighs in different measuremnts (ie, grams, oz, kilo, etc...) I am going to give it some more time and continue to get familiar with it.Product Review: Scale

I looked at a lot of scales. This scale had a lot of extra features but the price was only slightly higher than a scale that just gave the weight. I needed to know the carbs, fats, etc. so this scale is very informative. My favorite features is that you can put any container on the scale before you turn it on and it will zero out so after you turn it on you get just the info. for the food itself, makes clean up easier, just toss your plate into the dishwasher and grab any old plate or bowl for the next measure. My only problem is I find the book with the code numbers a bit awkward, too many diff. sections for everything, and I have to wear "cheaters" to read it. I plan to spend a little time (maybe when I'm a passenger during a car commute) to pull out a list of codes for my most frequently measured foods, then type up my own, larger print list to make it handier. I don't know how long the scale will last, but it appears to be well-made and has a small footprint on the counter. I find it very usefull and with all of the different information it supplies, it is useful for everyone in our household.Product Review: Very Handy

This makes caculating nutritional information very easy for anyone. I love just putting in that I have an apple, putting it on the scale and immediately knowing how many calories without any figuring.
My husband also uses it to ship small packages. :)
Product Review: You are stuck with limited codes

If you eat stuff not listed in the code book, you are out of luck. There is no way to create a custom code and there is no listing that I could find anywhere on the Internet where you could get additional codes. Some very common items, like Ranch Dressing, is not listed in the code book.Product Review: excellent for dieters and/or cooks

I've owned a few other scales, but they were all cheap, didn't last, and only measured up to a few pounds. This scale is really high quality. I love that I can track the nutrition of everything I eat. But I can also use it when I am baking to get accurate measurements of my dry goods, so I use the tare function all the time. It's so sensitive, it will register the weight of your breath just blowing on it!
I love this scale, and if you're like me and enjoy baking AND being healthy, this makes a really fabulous gift--to yourself!
