Product Reviews of Earth Friendly Products Ecos 2x Liquid Laundry Detergent Free & Clear, 100-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 4)Product Review: Disappointing Summary: 1 Stars
I got a bottle of this detergent from Costco, thinking it would be great for my baby's clothes since it's all natural. Well, it smells like cheap mens cologne to me and it takes alot of it to get clothes clean. Was very disappointing considering how much it costs! There are better earth friendly detergents out there, don't waste your money on this one.
Product Review: Does not clean well Summary: 1 Stars
It is great that this is an eco-friendly detergent and that it is super concentrated but after several attempts (hot, warm, cold, small load, large load, darks, lights) I have to say this stuff does not work very well. It does not get stains out or remove dirt completely. In comparison, Seventh Generation and Planet detergents both work far better and cost about the same.
Product Review: Doesn't really get clothes clean Summary: 2 Stars
I wanted to like this product. My white sport socks just do not get clean. I've used hot water, ECOS, and environmentally safe bleach, and my sport socks look dirty after being washed. (I guess the bleach isn't very effective either.) My 'domestic goddess' friend also tried the ECOS. She asked me if I wanted the rest of hers, because she didn't think it got her clothes very clean. Bummer.
Product Review: Excellent Eco Friendly Laundry Detergent Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using Ecos Free and Clear for well over a year and it cleans clothes wonderfully without causing any problems for my very expensive side loader washing machine. It is concentrated and therefore not as much is needed for a full load of laundry. I highly recommend this product over the Tides and Cheers that are full of filler and chemicals!
Product Review: FADES COLORS! Summary: 2 Stars
I have been anxiously waiting for my bottle of Tide to run out so I can use this product as one of my final transitions to eco-friendly household cleaning products. Having read online reviews of related laundry detergents, Ecos appeared to be the leading brand (on average), followed by Method.
HOWEVER, after my first wash with some dark towels, I immediately noticed a significant fade in color. There is no way I am going to use this product on my clothes, and I WISH I would have kept one towel untouched so I could closely compare in case my eyes are playing tricks on me. But I am trusting what my instincts are telling me and returning the bottle.
It was very difficult for me to rate this product with 2 stars because it seems to clean well, yet please be forewarned about the color fade. So I am on to trying Method laundry detergent for my next experiment - make sure you check out Method's reviews and innovative new bottle on Amazon (they are quite impressive).
