I recently lost the use of my legs and I'm confined to a wheelchair. The legs will heal but not for months or even a year or so. One of my biggest peeves was not being able to really shower. Sponge bathing does not match up at all. This transfer bench is sturdy, very comfortable to sit on, and is priced lower than anything else I've found on the Internet.

The suction feet allow me to transfer completely on my own, and this can be used two ways: 1) Keep a pair of legs outside the shower stall and the other pair inside, if the transfer from the wheelchair is difficult - gap is too wide. 2) Keep the entire bench inside and cross the gap with a sliding board or with the help of upper body strength. I was planning to do 1) but I have the strength to do 2) so that keeps the place a little drier.

The feet have incremental height adjustments to a fine degree. Not only are there closely spaced holes to extend/retract feet, but there is a second column of holes for 2x finer height adjustment. The vinyl seat is padded just right. My first real shower in a month lasted over an hour - i never wanted to leave, but the hot water ran out. I felt no pain sitting in the same spot all the time. I do wish the plastic was easier to remove, but I'm not knocking off any stars.

This bench is big enough for me at nearly 6 ft tall, and yet small enough so that just unscrewing the shower glass door gives me enough room to get inside. My occupational therapist seems to approve of its usefulness. I can get good, no-tip support from the handle on the far side. The backrest can be switched over if your shower faces the other way

5 stars. Great product, great value (we were given prices that were 100% over what we paid for this, so I sprung for one day shipping and I feel so clean with shower access!!
