Product Review: Don't bother.......

I've had to use a reacher for many years now due to arthritis and this is the worst one I have ever owned. It isnt strong enough to pick up much and the grabber part slips out of place all of the time. This is very annoying.Product Review: Excellant Multipurpose Tool

I have several versions of this reacher. Two are folding and one with a rigid frame. All of these units are sensitive enough to pick up a dime or a grain of rice from a tile floor yet strong enough to lift canned goods and heavier items. One of my Duro-Med Aluminum Reachers is over ten years old yet functions as well as my newer ones.
I have severe back problems so the floor is not my friend. The units have had a significant effect on my quality of life. I keep a folding unit in the car a rigid one in the kitchen and another folding unit in the laundry room where it's great for removing clothes from the dryer and picking up about anything that may end up on the floor by accident.
I highly recomment the Duro-Med Reacher for anyone who has difficulty bending or is restricted to a wheelchair.

I was terribly disappointed when I received the Duro-Med Aluminum Reacher and regretted buying it unseen. It is cheaply made--lightweight aluminum, plastic, and cord. Any and all components will likely break upon frequent use. It cannot pick up anything that weighs more than a few ounces. The magnetic tip latches on to nearby objects and releasing the unwanted object is difficult. At 26 inches, it is too short to be useful. I have to bend over or stretch. I'm stuck with something that belongs in the Dollar Store but I paid $10.80.Product Review: Get A Grip On Things!

Shoes, socks, peanuts, paper clips, pen, pencil, and paper have been picked up by yours truly!
If you're like me you have said at least one, if not all, of the following way too many times.
Starting with: 'Oops! I dropped it, could you pick that up for me?' ~ 'Sorry! 'I've dropped it again!' ~ 'Rats! I can't reach it!' ~ 'Do me a favor and pick that up for me?' ~ Or in total frustration if by yourself, ~ '*#@& That's just great! Now what?' ~ 'Ooh! That hurt! I should've just left it!'
If you relate to any of the above, then this is what you need. Gaining more independence is awesome. The Duro-Med Aluminum Reacher with Magnetic Tip, 26 Inch is ideal for taking clothes out of the dryer, as suggested by the previous reviewer. Thank You, for that great idea. I am using one for the dryer and the Duro-Med 32 Aluminum Reacher with Magnetic Tip for general use both inside and outside the house. Now, I no longer have to rely on others . . . . . unless, of course, I drop the reacher! ~ Mrs. B.

Duro-Med 32 Aluminum Reacher with Magnetic Tip I bought this for a cousin after her back surgery. She was unable to bend or squat for quite a few weeks. She reported the reacher was a life saver, very sturdy but still lighweight. The magnetic tip was a great added bonus. She says it is a great tool for anyone with bending/reaching limitations.
