When it does come down to each of us, we often need to find a way to rechareg out electronics for our everyday life, from cell phones and MP3 Players, all the way to Ipods and Blackberry devices. Fortunately, for Duracell, they do know how to make the convience easy for electronics owners everywhere. That does come well with their Powerhouse USB Charger. It does a great job recharging your devices from your Iphones, and your MP3 Players. It is simple and easy to use, and is also very easy to recharge by simply plugging it into your USB ports of your computer, and it simply charges up with ease. It is a great buy if you want to charge multiple devices at once, and is well worth the money. I absolutely recommend this as a great alternative to recharge your electronics' life, without a waste on your wallet.

Amazon has since changed their description of this product.
It no longer appears to make any claim about capacity.
Go to the Duracell site and check what the capacity of the different chargers are before purchasing.
And then hope you get the one you want.
My calculations still hold true :)
Note: I did not buy one of these products. I was intrigued by an add. As an Electrical Engineer, I did some math.
If anyone sees an error in my math, please point it out.
The description here claims "Portable 2000mAh Lithium-ion battery for portable devices".
Duracell's site indicates 500mH [...]
For those for which it is not obvious, it means that it holds 1/4th the energy that the description on this page.
It's not clear if the 500mAH is at their battery voltage of 3.7V or the output USB voltage of 5V.
I'll be generous and assume it's 5V. That means it contains 2500mWH of energy.
To give you an idea of what that is equivalent to, a AA NiMH (rechargeable) battery (1.2V, 2500mAH) would be 3000mWH.
And there are voltage boost and drop losses associated with the charging dropping that value by 20% or more.
I think even the smallest MP3 player would need more - and certainly any phone way more - energy than what this holds to charge your battery.
They say "Up to 15 hours of backup power".
My phone has like 250 hours of backup time.
So are they saying that this device would charge my phone to 1/20th = 5% of capacity???

See the Duracell manufacturer's web site for correct details. This is a 500 mAh unit. It has approximately half the capacity of the next larger model, which is an 1150 mAh battery. I do not have this device, so my three-star rating is not to be relied upon.Product Review: Well worth it

Ill be traveling from South America to Europe to Asia and back again for work.
I needed something that could make my iPhone's battery last through all the travel.
This is it. Re-charges my phone two full times and still had juice to spare.
You won't be dissapointed
