I looked at various options and this item had such GREAT reviews from everyone, but I have to say experiences will differ based upon devices.
I have a 3G iphone that I intentionally ran down until it shutoff. This battery backup unit with a full charge only charged my iphone up halfway before crapping out.
This is great for an emergency charge but for its price point I expected to get a more robust charge out of it.
There are other emergency charge options out there that are a 3rd the price, come with a handcrank and don't require a power source at all to recharge.

Using the USB cable or your device cable, connect your device to the Instant Charger?s power port. Turn the power switch to ON. The LED status light will turn green, indicating that your device is charging.
Recharge from your laptop
The Duracell Instant Charger conveniently charges through your laptop or computer?s USB port. Simply connect the Instant Charger to your computer using the USB cable. The charge indicator light turns red to indicate that the battery is being charged and turns green when fully charged and ready.
On/off switch
The on/off switch helps to efficiently conserve power. When not in use, turn the Instant Charger off to prevent from losing charge. When ready to use, simply turn the Instant Charger on. The LED status light will turn green, indicating that the charger is on and ready.
Compact, portable power
The Instant Charger?s streamlined design makes it a handy portable power solution. Its size is not much bigger than a credit card, so it's easy to bring in your bag for backup power when you need it most.
