It would be nice if Duracell's pre-charged batteries were labelled as such (i.e., "Pre-Charged", or whatever). Otherwise it might be wise to use Sanyo's. Sanyo's, because of their obvious difference, can avoid a nasty surprise when you go to use something you thought would still be charged, only to find that it isn't - because you mixed "regular" rechargeables and the pre-charged guys in the camera you haven't used for some days. The original white caps were good, but Duracell blew that off.
Also needed is a capacity rating on the Amazon page, so you know what you are buying (especially since Duracell's web page isn't much to write home about).

The first recharge of 1 of the 4 battries in the first opened package (purchased 2 packages) saw the battery explode!! It was in a proper charger designed for NiMH battery.
My advice is to not allow recharging unless you monitor the recharge process very carefully, i.e. you do not leave the room and unplug the charger when you do.
Further to my experience posted previously, I continued to charge the second Duracell battery matched with a Kodak battery in a Kodak charger. Within minutes, the second Duracell exploded as well.
So out of two Duracell batteries being recharged for the first time, both exploded. I was using a Kodak charger that I have been using for years using both Kodak batteries and older Duracell batteries (all rechargeable, of course).
Fire and flames were not involved, just parts of the battery and a lot of fluid.
I consider this product very dangerous.

The capacity may be less on the pre-charged batteries in comparison than the other Duracell or Energizer rechargeable batteries, but I have found the longer shelf life is worth the trade-off. I typically use these batteries to power a flash unit. These batteries recycle the flash quickly and provide a solid life in that unit. With so many other uses for AA batteries I have been stocking up and replacing the single life batteries in other devices with these pre-charged batteries. Based on the price comparison and the number of uses you can get from these batteries, I know I will be saving money in the long run.Product Review: Best rechargeable batteries I've ever used!

I purchased these batteries for my digital camera. I was previously using "regular" rechargeable batteries, but they did not stay charged for very long. After just a few photos I would get the low battery warning. I tried these pre-charged batteries and was impressed. The charge lasted much longer.
