This item is not terribly expensive when compared to other humidifying products, and it works well, so I would call it a good deal. However, I have a very accurate hygrometer and it does maintain a humidity level slightly higher than advertised here, but not so much that cigars would suffer as a result. This gets the job done, keeps a pretty consistent humidity. But be prepared to use about 5 in a 100 cigar humidor. Use less than three and they need to be filled every few days to a week. I generally recommend them, but make sure you have enough if your not living the rain forest.Product Review: Great Product

I'm relatively new to cigars, I've been an on and off smoker for several years but I just recently got serious with it (my dad's been smoking cuban for 40 years so I've been around cigars all of my life).
I was surprised at how incredibly easy it is to maintain 70% RH with these things. I popped them into my humidor and I've been at 70.5% for the last week or so.
A couple of things are confusing.
First of all I read a lot of reviews saying people had to remove crystals when they got them cause they swelled when they filled them, etc. etc.
These come pre-filled, they should state so on the packet but they are ready to go as soon as you get them, no need to add water (generally speaking).
You have to have a properly seasoned humidor to make these work out of the box, that's a big deal. You also need a relatively accurate hygrometer, there are several here on Amazon (look for Caliber III +-1%RH; about $20).
Finally, they are a lot bigger than they look, think like 2 large test tubes put together. From the pics I thought they were a lot smaller.
Anyway, they are a great all round product and a great all round seller.

I purchased the product for my 50 stogie humidor. I was amazed when I put it in the humidor with cigars and checked it 6 hours later... humidity was regulated at 71%! I have a caliber III hygrometer so I know it is accurate. After 1 week of having the drymistat in the humidor, it constantly reads 70% humidity. I even checked the high and low humidity that is recorded on the caliber and it read 70%. Easy to use product... you just have to add tap water. Low maintenance as well... fill 1-3 months depending upon conditions. I paid 8$ at JR Cigar.. very inexpensive compared to other humidifying products.
