Product Reviews of Drive Medical FW19BL Fly-Weight Transport Chair, 19 Inch, BlueProduct Review: Travel away from home with ease Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this chair for my mom who sometimes has trouble with arthritis in her hips and legs. Getting around outside of home is sometimes difficult for her. I found this chair, liked the description and price and purchased it. I was completely amazed at how well the chair was built and how comfortable it is. I can take it in/out of the car with no problems at all and it is so light. I would recommend this chair highly to anyone who has to help a disabled person get out of the house.
Product Review: Two surprises Summary: 5 Stars
While my wife was awaiting back surgery, we had to obtain a wheelchair of some type because she could not walk without excruciating pain. I ordered this transport chair (a wheelchair designed to be pushed) because of the price and the fact that it would fold. I was a little worried that the quality might be not so good because of the low price, but I was pleasantly surprised. 1st surprise: no assembly required. Take it out of the box, spread the sides, pop up the handles, and it is ready to go. 2nd surprise: the quality is very good -- the chair feels very sturdy although it is very lightweight. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about this chair. If you need a transport wheelchair, I don't think you could do any better than this one.
Product Review: Very happy with the Drive wheelchair Summary: 5 Stars
Someone recommended the Drive fly-lite wheelchair (we purchased the fly-weight wheelchair which was slightly less expensive), but they paid over $300 in a local medical supply store; we paid about $125 at Amazon. This is a well built, fits in smaller trunks as even the handles fold, and is light weight. We use to lug a heavy wheelchair around, and this has made bringing a wheelchair a breeze. The doctor's office was so impressed with it, and especially the price, they plan to purchase one through Amazon also. If you need a light weight wheelchair, this is the one to purchase. I had also called Drive to ask the difference between the fly-lite and fly-weight wheelchairs, and the main thing seemed to be this has four larger size wheels, which is easier to push over rough surfaces - yet was $50 less expensive. Highly recommend purshasing, and stop killing your back carrying/lifting a heavy wheelchair.
Product Review: Well worth the price! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this for my father-in-law who had a stroke this past summer at sixty eight years old. My mother-in-law at sixty seven, doesn't have a lot of arm and shoulder strength and cannot wield a full-size wheelchair around and constantly pull it in and out of the trunk of their toyota camry.
The light weight of this chair works great for short trips to appointments. I wouldn't recommend it for a long day shopping at the mall however. It's not as easy to use as a full-size standard wheelchair. This is a great chair for shorter trips and appointments to make transferring easier to manage.
Product Review: What a relief Summary: 5 Stars
This chair is lightweight, maneuverable, sturdy and we can easily collapse it and re-open it.It helps us (Mom's caregivers)out tremendously.I've seen other cheaper models online, but the reviews on this model speak for themselves.
I ordered Blue and got gray, but still tasteful...
