Product Review: DREAM ESSENTIALS SLEEP MASK=EXCELLENT!

My Dream Essentials Sleep Mask arrived yesterday, and I have already had to use it, because I didn't sleep most of the night last night. I have a lanai that gets a good breeze so I went outside to get comfortable and to use my new mask. Yes, the mask does let in a bit of light around my nose, BUT who cares...my eyelids are closed anyway. I got the black pair, and when I used the mask it was pitch black around my eyes.
The mask comes with ear plugs of which you twist and insert into your ears. You then press a bit on the ear plugs until they unwind a bit (to conform to the inside of your ears).
Back to the mask. I don't know what some reviewers are complaining about with the straps, because I can, only VERY slightly, feel them behind my head, and this is not a bother. My hat size is small, but that doesn't have an effect on their eye coverage. You just pull a bit more of the strap around you head. I hope they are still selling this mask when this one finally wears (not for a long time), because I want to buy another one. I may just go ahead and buy another one now, just to make sure I get the same kind. I love this soft mask!!!

I am very sensitive to light and bought this eye mask to help me sleep in my room, which is constantly lit up by street lights.
Pros:
Effective at blocking out light (the light from the nose bridge that some people have commented about was negligible).
Contoured mask keeps pressure off eyes.
Cons:
Strap pushes down on ears, to the painful point of waking me up.
Any time I sleep on my stomach or side, the eye 'bubbles' invert and put more pressure on my eyes than a non-contoured mask.
The cons often outweigh the pros, since the pain or pressure wakes me up more than light would. Even when the mask doesn't wake me up, I often push off the mask at night, defeating the whole purpose. That said, I think this is a decent mask, especially for the price, and would work well for back sleepers or travelers who must sleep upright.

I like the contoured eye covers as they give plenty of room for the eyes to move during sleeping, but the band that holds the mask on comes right over my ears and is uncomfortable, so the way I wear it to make it more comfortable allows more light in around the nose area. I'm really sensitive to light when going to sleep, so I've become quite used to wearing blindfolds. These are built out of a nice fabric and will probably last a while. If you have a larger nose, this might still allow some light in around the nose, but it's better than others I've worn. Lastly, because of the contours or bumps around the eyes if you sleep on your side, it might be a little uncomfortable since the bump may fall on the side of your face a little. Overall, it does what it's supposed to.
