Product Review: Works for naps
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a well made mask that works for me for naps. I have a problem sleeping with anything on my face, so this says a lot. I still can't make it through a whole night with it on, but I think it would work for a normal person just fine. It is a bit thick, so side sleeping is an issue, but this thickness is due to the eye cavities, which are a blessing if you are uncomfortable with masks. I found my old flat masks were giving me eye infections, but I have not had any such problems with this mask. There is a slight gap at the bottom where light gets in, but it is minor. Comfortable on the face, and a great step up from cheaper masks.

Product Review: comfy eye mask
Summary: 4 Stars

The reason I bought this mask was because the design looked the best and least likely to let in light. However, that is not the case because some light does leak in around the nose part. I had my friend try it and he agreed. The outer material looks hotter than it is, its actually only a thin layer and the backside is foam and black cloth. It hasn't felt hot to me.
Overall this is a nice mask and I love that my eyelashes do not hit anything. I can open my eyes and almost forget that I'm wearing it. The Velcro strap fastens on the side so there is not an extra bump at the back of your head to sleep on. But since it does leak in a small amount of light I kind of wish I went with the cheaper mask.

Product Review: fantastic to start, but don't expect long usable life
Summary: 3 Stars

I have a fairly large nose, and this is the first mask that I've found that doesn't let in light at the cheeks from the nose pushing the mask up/out. However, after about a year a crease developed horizontally across the mask, right over the eyes, from the outward pressure of cheekbones and brow bone. I tried storing it rolled in the opposite direction and secured with a rubber band to no avail. A few months later this crease turned into a crack in the soft plastic substructure of the mask, and the mask now makes contact with my eyes when I wear it. Very uncomfortable. At $20, however, I've decided that it can be a consumable item I purchase every year or so. The earplugs are the same cheap ones you buy at the drugstore, nothing special about those at all.

Edited Dec 5, 2009: Unlike the navy one I had purchased last time since black had been out of stock, this black mask is leaving grayish-blue dye marks on my beige pillowcases. I tried to soak out some of the excess dye and several changes of water turned a dark gray, but it's still leaving marks. Non-chlorine oxygen (color-safe) bleaches are not removing the stains so I have resigned myself to ruined pillowcases - I just make sure the already-damaged cases go on my pillow and not my husband's, so they don't ALL get wrecked. Originally rated four stars, reduced rating to three.

Edited March 18, 2010: This one has cracked (see above) after only six months' use. A year is all right, but six months is pushing it in my book. I now recommend this only for occasional use.

Product Review: slep mask
Summary: 5 Stars

Best light blockage and eye comfort when laying on your back or sitting up--however it's slightly uncomfortable when you sleep on your side because the little "pillows" under your eyes press in.

Product Review: uncomfortable
Summary: 2 Stars

I spent time comparing and I thought this would be the best mask so I splurged on it. Unfortunately I found it really uncomfortable. The edges are hard so when I would turn on my side I felt the edge of the mask pressing on my temple. Not good. Also there was light coming in at the nose bridge. I think the design is too narrow at the top (I have a small face too). Fortunately they accepted my return with no problem. I now have a $7 mask from Walgreens and it works great!
