When I saw the advertisment for the first blood type book, I was intrigued. And the more I read about it, the more I was drawn to the idea that human beings are individuals, biologically, and that biology affects our personalities as well. Typing out as blood type A drew me to the basically plant based diet, though it also includes fish and poultry. I'd been having trouble digesting beef for a couple of years before this so it seemed a natural progression.
Then, comes this book called The Genotype Diet. Of course, I order this as I respect the research that Dr. D'Adamo has poured into his previous books, despite the critics who claim there is nothing to back it up. I did some of the measurements from the book, then decided to go the whole way and order the kit. I dutifully went through each thing, except the fingrprinting kit. I did the recommended measurements and answered the questions about family history, as well. When I finished, I typed out as the Teacher genotype. It resonated with me as well; when I first read the Teacher personality description, it fit me to a T. I'm glad I did the tests to confirm the typing. The tasting strips were espeicailly revealing. I couldn't wait to get it out of my mouth, my husband(BT O) let it sit on his tongue for awhile before he could detect the chemical imbedded in it and my sons-both blood type A-detected it right off the bat though didn't have the reaction I did.
If doing the measurements and answering the questions in the book is sufficient, stick with that. If you want to have all the information, get the kit. PS And if the diet works for you, ignore the critics.
