We (my wife and I) have been using this product for around 3 years now, after having purchased these via Subscribe-and-Save at Amazon. This beat our local warehouse shopping club by a mile.
Anyway, the deodorant goes on quite smoothly, though slightly less so the more it's being used (nothing beats that first application of a freshly opened stick!). I should note that it does leave behind a residue on clothing; this depends on how much you decide to basically bathe your armpits in it. It also does not appear to work very well when I'm sweating like a horse after the races on a hot day, so I'd need to apply liberally for better protection. Hence, in spite of times where I thought I'd ordinarily smell -and therefore nearly hospitalize- myself on those hot days, the deodorant holds up quite well and masks any scent.
The other function of deodorant, which is to reduce perspiration, does not appear to work so well on me. My wife, however, has no such issue. Perhaps this product works better on a female? Anyway, it smells quite nice regardless; not overpowering or "flowery." Everyone's different, and I've tried numerous products (my second recommendation as a good back-up would be Arm'n'Hammer's stick product, which smells even better but weakens in function as temperature increases).
Last point: like most sticks, be careful as you reach the end: apply gently and expect some of the product to tumble out onto the floor. The remainder of the stick has been known to crumble at the end, sometimes with a good half-inch remaining. That would be my only complaint.
