If you are like me, you probably have been getting pretty tired of how expensive razor blades are. I got tired of buying overpriced cartridges, but then I noticed that my grocery store had a small box of double edge razor blades tucked away on the top shelf. They cost two dollars for ten blades, a great bargain. So I decided to try out a safety razor. I thought what was the worse that could happen? I would be out a couple of bucks for the razor if it didn't work well. I didn't want to spend thirty dollars on something I wasn't sure would work out.
Well, when I got my razor in the mail, I was a little disappointed. It didn't come in an exciting box. It didn't even have instructions. Fortunately, it was well made and easy to assemble. The mechanism to lock the blade in place is simple. The whole thing is constructed of metal: the head is stainless and the shaft is aluminum. There is nothing on it that could break or rust.
The shave is very good, much better than a cartridge razor. The only complaint I have is that the blades don't last as long as my old cartridge razor. However, I could afford to put a new blade in every day for the price of cartridge razor blades. One blade typically lasts me about a week. Besides, whether you buy this, a $30 Merkur or a $200 chrome work-of-art razor, you will use the same blades.
All in all, I highly recommend it.
