This splint was to be the cure for my plantar fasciitis according to my podiatrist. The splint caused new pain, however. The cuff around the foot squeezes the ball of the foot area. After 5 nights of wearing this splint, the new pain at the large toe joint/ ball of foot exceeded the plantar pain. Here I am reading Amazon reviews in search of something else. The dorsal PF splints are so much cooler and more comfortable than the usual splints. Also, you can walk with them on, so it's great if you or your dogs need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night because you don't have to take them off and on, and you don't wake up your bed partner with the noise of Velcro.
The negative is that the fabric stretches, and as it stretches, the angle of your foot with respect to your leg gets less than optimal.
That being said, they're still more acceptable than the usual splints. It's better to use these most of the time than use the others (because they are so annoying) some of the time.
