Product Review: Great for washing clothes in the washer & for spot treating

As other reviewers have said, this is a great spot treatment. However, they're working too hard! I just put a bar in a pitcher with hot tap water and let it dissolve as much as it will, to create a saturated solution. I use an old toothbrush and this solution for spot treating, and I pour 1-4oz of this liquid soap into the washing machine as a great detergent substitute! (I also add 1 T. of washing soda + Borax combined)
It's cheap, easy, and effective.

I couldn't find this anywhere cheaper ONLINE to get this soap. I spray my garden with it to rid my watermelons of aphids; it isn't a miracle but it is somewhat effective. You may be able to find this locally but I wasn't.Product Review: LOVE this stuff. Works wonders!!!

I had forgotten all about this stuff until a couple of years ago. I saw it at the supermarket and remembered my mother using it. I also saw it mentioned in a Laundry wonder book. I bought it and, man, has it saved me money. If Fels doesn't take out the stain, it's not coming out!! According to the best information I can gather, Fels Naptha no longer contains Stoddard's Solvent (The info on Wikepedia is dated, obviously.) or Napthalene, etc.
It is an excellent spot remover and I use it in preference to other soaps when I make my own liquid laundry detergent. I don't think it is intended to be a face, body, or hand soap; but a laundry soap (We used to use bar soap to do laundry in a tub with a washboard when I was a child); and I would recommend it for this purpose.

Just the greatest! Used this on a shirt with a month old stain that the newer stain remover brands could not get out! I have my stain free shirt back! I make my own detergent with Fels Naptha. Inexpensive & works like a charm.
