I had a mouth guard from the dentist, and paid $$$$. This one is more comfortable and way cheaper. The first time I used it, it seemed a bit bigger in the mouth (I'd say I have a normal male mouth), but I never noticed it when I slept.Product Review: Better than the $400 guard from the dentist

This was extremely easy to fit to my mouth as well as very comfortable to wear at night. My only complaint and it's more my fault than the device's is that I've managed to chew thru it after a month of use. BUT... I managed to chew and break my $400 front teeth guard from the dentist in a year, so, even having to replace this device every month or two is still way cheaper than the dentist. But so does coughing up $500 for a nightguard custom made for you by a dentist.
I will start off by affirming that these do not last as long as those made by dentists. But even if I was to replace this every other month, it'd still be cheaper than a dentists nightguard.
One of the drawbacks of OTC dental guards is that they can irritate the gums. I especially noticed this when my nightguard would start getting worn down in some spots(where the most pressure is applied). After a while, it doesn't fit quite the same and the constant uneven pressure can be bad for the gums.
What I like about Dental Hygiene Preferred Complete Day/Night Mouth Guard Kit, Colors may vary is that you are given 2 different sizes that fit your mouth different. I guess my mouth is average sized(I'm not a mouth expert so I couldn't really tell you). IMO, alternating them helps. The different sizes put the pressure in different spots since they fit different. Which, IMO, results in less potential for irritation on the gums.
With the economy the way it is, few can really afford the custom made nightguards. The quality of this product is excellent and the size options are nice to have. This is the only OTC nightguard that I will use.

Went with this product as most here liked it. It was massive and the other was too small. I have used these type of products numerous times so I know how to follow instructions. It was massive and bulky and wouldnt stay on the roof of mouth. Basically it fell out when I slept. Waste of money......go get a $6 sport mouth peice.Product Review: Buy this before shelling out some major dough!

I have been completely satisfied with this product. It's easy to use and serves it's purpose. Plus, it's over $400 cheaper than the mouth guard my dentist was going to make for me.
