The part of the scratcher that actually does the scratching isn't long enough. That part that is 90 degrees to the handle. The current length of that part is about half an inch. It should be significantly longer, in my opinion.

I was just going to buy the most inexpensive backscratcher as after all it is only going to scratch my back but was interested in the special handle this one had so I bought this one. I am very pleased with the product. The handle works very well, my old ond didn't have one and would slip out of my hand and this one doesn't, which I really like and the handle is also very comfortable. it was shipped very nicely and in a timely, quick manner. Also, they sent a sample of foot cream with the product, which I really liked and have ordered also.
