Product Review: It really works
Summary: 5 Stars

I have drippy ears, always have had them. And yesterday, after a lifetime of Q-tips, I compacted the wax in both of my ears. I felt uncomfortably "stopped up", couldnt hear clearly in both ears because of that echo in my head & it totally freaked me out. I was also afraid I had punctured my eardrum so I was heading straight in to a panic attack. I kept telling myself it would work itself out soon & tried to distract myself. After not sleeping all nite & yelling at my bf because I couldnt hear, he suggested an earwax kit. Well, that flipped me out because I certainly didnt want to put anything else in my head. He also suggested I go to an emergency clinic where they could "sedate" me to clear my ears... what???, nooooo way.

So finally I called my local pharmacy & asked if they had any ear wax kits. They said they only carried DEBROX liquid & that I should give it a try. I was skeptical & a bit scared because I didnt want to make the clog worse. I had to wait until I had enough courage to try it then went in the bathroom tilted my head & squeezed the bottle. I didnt feel any drops, more like oil, filling my ear, no bubbling. I sat up & my ear felt full again & I immediately wanted that stuff out. Then the bubbling, "cracking" started. I still wanted it out, tried to wipe it away, but when I walked into the living room, I COULD HEAR CLEARLY AGAIN. IT HAD WORKED in just a minute or 2. No wax came out, but I could hear. Ill do the other ear after I get the squeeze bulb thing to rinse it out (& when I have the courage again.) BUT DEBROX WORKED ALMOST INSTANTLY.

So give it a try if your ears are "stuffed up". Its a lot cheaper then a drs visit (& easier on your bf too lol.) Thanks DEBROX.

I have suffered several times in the past with clogged ears due to an abundance of wax (yes, I blame q-tips... but sometimes I just really want to use one!!) This problem occurred most recently when I just didn't have the time to go to the doctors to get it 'sucked' out (as I had done in the past). So, after doing some research I decided that Debrox would be my best bet. Once I got my supply, I was so excited to clear out my ears and be able to hear again! You can imagine my disappointment when it didn't work. No 'crackling', no fizzing... nothing. In fact, it further stuffed up my ears! Determined that it would work... I flushed out the first round with water and tried it again a few hours later. This time, I heard the "crackling" and I felt it really getting in my ear! Convinced that my problems would be over as soon as I picked my head up... I was, again, disappointed. Still stuffed. So I flushed it out again. During the flushing, after one good "squeeze" I heard a "pop" felt a brief sharp pain and suddenly all of the wax in my ears came out! Forgive the mental image, but it literally seemed like popcorn kernals were popping out of my head!! I could hear, my head was clear, and I felt enormous relief!! At this point my family starting shouting "ooooh do mine, do mine!!" We now all have squeeky clean ears and a stockpile of Debrox in the medicine cabinet--right where the q-tips used to be!! When used correctly, and with a little patience... this product does the job!!

Product Review: Pretty good for tough earwax
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this product at Wal-mart after dealing with very itchy inner ears, followed by what felt like "stopped up" inner ear canals. After reading online what my problem could be, I came to the conclusion that compacted, pushed back ear wax was the problem (seeing as I had recently used qtips to ease the itchiness). When I got home, I put about five drops in the ear that was really giving me problems. The crackling sensation wasn't a big deal and I then used the washer that came with it to rinse out my ear with warm water. I used cotton balls to catch loose water and, ultimately, some watery earwax that came with it. It seemed like it worked! I did the other ear, which wasn't nearly as "stopped" and it did the trick on that ear. I do agree that you need to use this product a few times to get completely cleared up. I'll use it later tonight and the next couple days to see if my problem is resolved. I hate going to the doctor so hopefully this will work!

Product Review: Saved me not going to the doctor
Summary: 5 Stars

I had an impacted ear wax really deap near the ear canal. It hurts tremendously, could not hear anything and I couldn't handle the pain.

So I decided to call the doctor for the monday appointment on friday. However, I was not glad to hear the cost of removing the impacted ear wax cost around 110 - 180 dollars. So I decided to go to Riteaids and get this thing working. First added few drop of solution to my ear and waited approximately 15 - 20 minute while lying sideway reading a book. After that, went to the bathroom heated the water to near 37 degree and blasted the earwax with the syringe that they gave me. Remember, patience is the key. If the earwax does not come out through several syrining, keep trying. But make sure the pressure is not strong enough to hurt you. After few syringing, a huge earwax came out and it was the greatest feeling ever. My ear did not hurt anymore and I did not have to go to the doctor coughing out 110-180 dollars.

It the end, who wins? Smart customer vs cash guzzling doctors?

Product Review: The Real Deal
Summary: 4 Stars

I woke up one morning and could hear absolutely nothing out of my left ear. It felt gummed up on the inside with a degree of pressure - signs typical of ear wax build-up. I got Debrox and started using it but it had no noticable effect. I then saw the doctor later that evening who was able to scrape out my tightly packed ear wax deep inside my ear and he recommended Debrox in the future to prevent and treat the problem. He did note, however, that this isn't a one-time use and you're cured. Debrox softens up the ear wax so it comes out easier, so the doctor recommended I put some drops in my ears before I go to bed (maybe with some cotton balls so it won't leak everywhere) and flush it out in the morning.

Not wanting to risk this deafening wax build up to happen to my other ear, I did this that very evening. After a few minutes of listening to the drops "crackle" and tingle in my ear, I felt a shifting of something in my ear. Sure enough, it was more ear wax. Debrox had softened it up enough so that it was sliding around in my ear, so I got out of bed and flushed it out with the bulb included in the box. Before long, a large, dense specimen of wax was flushed out of my ear. Clearly, Debrox did the trick this time.

So again, this isn't a "apply a few drops in your ear and the most difficult of wax build-ups will dissolve instantly" kind of solution. But it IS the first brand my doctor recommended and I have my own experience of it both taking time to work as well as removing large amounts of wax deep in my ear that I never knew was even there.
