Product Reviews of Debrox Drops Earwax Removal Aid -- 0.5 fl oz

Product Review: Blessed relief!! Be diligent with severe blockages
Summary: 5 Stars

After an awful sinus infection I got water stuck in my left ear that wouldn't drain out. I thought I had something like congested eustachian tubes but that didn't explain how the water was "stuck" in the ear canal. After several days of muffled hearing I started to suspect that the dry winter air and the meds I'd taken had dried out my system and led to impacted earwax (cleaning my ears with cotton swabs couldn't have helped). I tried various home remedies (hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol mixtures, white vinegar, olive oil...) but nothing was getting the wax moving.

Finally I picked up a bottle of Debrox and bought a baby's rubber bulb syringe (for drawing out nasal mucus) to flush out my ear. I put a towel over my shoulder and applied 5-10 drops into my ear canal, leaving my head tilted for several minutes or pressing my ear canal shut with my finger so the oily drops wouldn't leak out. Then I used the bulb syringe to flush out my ear with the warmest water I could tolerate (be careful, the eardrum is very sensitive; also, I tilted my head to the opposite side to make sure the water would completely fill my ear canal, then tilted the other way to rinse back out). Nothing happened the first couple attempts, but I diligently continued every fifteen minutes, applying drops, waiting, then flushing out several times. Then I noticed small flecks of wax beginning to wash out, and with each successive attempt, larger flakes. By about the seventh attempt (yes, I spent about 2 hrs on this, I was so determined!), I felt some painful pinching as I flushed out my ear, and suddenly an astonishing glob of dark wax washed out (about the size of the head of a cotton swab). I *also* noticed that my hearing in my left ear was suddenly even better than my right ear, so I'm going to have to use those drops on the right side, as well. No doubt I've got some decent wax build-up there, too.

I would recommend Debrox for general ear hygiene as well as for curing blockages -- I plan on giving my ears a good flush more regularly, and *no* more cotton swabs, ever!

Product Review: Debrox Earwax Removal Aid
Summary: 2 Stars

I've had this stuff for a while, maybe a few years. I'm not sure if it has expired and that is why I have not had a good experience with it since I have started using it again. I notice that after I put the suggested 5-10 drops in it does start to foam and fill up my ear canal so that I cannot hear anything. I do hear the cracking noises. I leave it in there for the suggested several minutes. After that time I let it slide out of my ear. What I have experienced with Debrox is that the Debrox is the only thing that comes out of my ear. I never have seen any actual earwax come out. I know I have a lot of earwax because I was told this by my doctor. I have tried flushing my ear canal out with water afterward as suggested. I never see any earwax coming out. I don't know what the deal is.

Product Review: Doesn't work as advertised
Summary: 1 Stars

Sounds so simple, apply drops twice a day and your ear wax is gone.
The first thing I noticed is that the drops don't come out easily at all, they seem to stick to your ear. I had to flush with water to get it out.
Also, after each application my hearing got worse, not a single bit of wax came out and I have an annoying ring now. Time to see a doctor.

Product Review: GREAT PRODUCT!! I CAN HEAR AGAIN!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This stuff works great. I had a badly clogged left ear and tried everything to get it clear. It was causing me severe hearing issues almost like I was listening under water. It took two days and finally the largest clog of ear wax I ever seen broke free and fell right out of my ear. I CAN HEAR AGAIN!!!
For those that rated it less than five stars you need to reread the instructions on the box. It takes 2 - 5 days depending on the wax. It also has to be used 2 times per day during that time span. You also need to fill the bulb syringe with water (Best way is to use a bowl of warm water, or a cup of warm water), turn your head down so gravity can work, and then spray the bulb in your ear. The warm water will knock out the ear wax remaining.
Some people that do not have a bad wax problem will achieve their goal in 1 or 2 days, but you may not be one of them so keep going the five days. Also for some people they may need only the minimum of 5 drops, but you may need the max of 10. This product does work, and it works great!!

Product Review: Hearing Aid
Summary: 4 Stars

There are times where my ears often get clogged up. It gets so outrageous at times, I find it hard to remove ear wax from my ear. That all has changed with Debrox. These ear drops are safe and easy to use to help you loosen your ear wax. All you have to do is place the drops in the ear, about a few times a day, and it simply breaks up the wax that can cause you to lose you hearing. It is safe to use, even on all kinds of ears, even those who are sensitive to medication. All in all, I really recommend this for everyone. It works well, and is a must buy for all of us.
