This scope is great. I love the LED light and it's well made, works great. But the hard case was broken at the hinge when I received it. It's still usable as a storage place for the scope, but I wish I had saved the few extra $$ and just bought the scope that comes by itself without the case.Product Review: Well Worth The Money

This otoscope is great. It is well made, has batteries that are convenient to replace, and very easy to use. It was a replacement otoscope (you couldn't change batteries in the old one) and was more money than the first one but it is much better. There are pictures that make it easy to use. This little ear device is wonderful. I read all the positive reviews before I purchased it on ebay and amazon but still was not prepared for how well it works.
I had purchased an inexpensive otoscope at a drug store about a year ago that also came with some other plastic utensils to look in the nose and throat and ended up immediately taking it back for a refund. It was made of white plastic and was very flimsy and was very poor when I used it to look into the ear to see my daughters eardrum.
This otoscope is different. Do not let its small size fool you when it comes to brightness and the clarity of what you see when you look into the ear.
The otoscope itself is metal and comes with 3 sizes of specula and a small instruction sheet as well as pictures of eardrums printed on the box. The instruction sheet in and of itself is not very helpful in my opinion nor are the pictures printed on the box. They appear to be off color. What is helpful though is a weblink included on the instruction sheet that will take you to more detailed instructions as well as some eardrum pictures of normal and ear infected eardrums. These pictures are crystal clear and are a wonderful reference.
I am not sure the hard case is worth the extra money that I paid for it. It does a nice job of keeping everything together but it is simply a cheap plastic box.
Overall though the otoscope is a real bargain for the price.

The Dr Mom LED Pocket Otoscope is sufficient for the price. The hard case is very nice because I feel that the Otoscope could fall apart easily if it were not protected. It is good for seeing the ear drum, but the 3 different specula don't stay easily attached during use.
