I purchased these masks because my roommate's girlfriend smokes and the smell wakes me up and makes breathing more difficult. I was worried about them pulling too hard on my ears and being uncomfortable but was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the ear-loop design is. There is a nice wire in the mask that makes it easy to mold the mask to your face. Every face is different and this isn't a one size fits all world.
I recommend these for people who have allergies or problems with indoor pollutants like cigarette smoke or pet dander. They are dirt cheap too so you can order like a years worth for next to nothing.

Masks such as this are effective at slowing the transmission of all airborne infectious diseases. True, the filter size will let in virus particles, but virus particles are usually contained in aerosolised droplets of sputum due to coughing and sneezing, and these droplets ARE effectively caught. They will offer some protection to a healthy person, but are most effective when worn by a sick person to reduce the load of aerosolised infectious particles.Product Review: I can actually breathe through the filter

I have two cats and I think humans were not intended to breathe cat litter, especially the scoopable stuff. So I have tried a lot of masks and it always seems that when I breathe in I wind up breathing around the mask rather than through it. The way these wrap around, though, it fits pretty well and I notice I can actually breathe through it. Since I'm not using these for biological protection, I think its safe to reuse them, at least for a week. So I'm still on my first one, but will likely order more when I'm finished with these.Product Review: It's not spectacular, but it'll make you 'feel' better

These masks are nothing to scream home about, but you get what you pay for. There are a lot of them so you won't have to use them for very long and it's okay for general purpose usage, like with moderately excessive dust or moderate smoke. It won't necessarily protect you from the flu though.
