Product Review: Adorable and Funny, but works

The thing about this product is that it is a penguin and that it is so funny and adorable to look at. It is bound to brighten anyones mood when they walk into the room.
It is perfect to sit on any flat table surface and can operate for many many many hours at a time. The cool mist is cool to touch as one walks by and will make any room feel cool.

I purchased 2 of these humidifiers for my children, to use nightly, to help with the dry Colorado air. Yes, they are cute, but within two weeks, my son's stopped working (no mist was coming out). I tried all of the trouble shooting ideas in the instruction manual and even contacted Crane. I had to exchange it for a new one.
Now, three months later, I will have to return both of them. Once again, the mist has stopped coming out in one of them. The other one continues to leak, enough that after running all night, there is a 1/2 inch pool of water on the tray I placed under the unit. Aside from that, the handle broke off one of them while I was cleaning it.
I gave it two stars because this ultrasonic system is much quieter than the evaporative humidifiers I've had in the past.

After my steam humidifier got REALLY hot & seemed to be dangerous, I decided to shop for a cool humidifier for my kids. The doctor recommended that I switch anyways, she says the cool ones are more effective for colds, the hot ones work better for asthma...
So, upon falling in love with this penguin, I ordered one. It arrived looking adorable & then I plugged it in - nothing - no light - no steam...ok, that one definately didn't work so I sent it back. Amazon was great & sent me a replacement immediately. Got that one today, it WORKS wonderfully BUT it has a crack in the base - hubby said to send it back because it might leak into the wiring. So, I proceeded to get the return label, etc & Amazon said they won't send me another because the problem with the item is more widespread than originally thought. I am downright depressed so my husband said he could seal the crack with silicon & we should just keep it instead of sending it back.
It does make the most wonderful 'steam', so light & airy like a cloud - it feels good to breathe the mist & I know it will be very helpful when the kids are sick!
I hope you have better luck than I, it would be worth a return or two to get one!
I would give the working humidifier 5 stars but with all the problems, I comprimised at a 3
Product Review: Adorable, yes, but also cumbersome

First, let me say that this penguin is every bit as cute as the picture--and the cool mist definitely helps us sleep and breathe easier during the dry winter months. But it's really annoying to refill! I was hoping for something where you just unscrew a lid and pour water in without moving the actual humidifier (just use a measuring cup or watering can to refill). Instead, I have to take off the head, pick up the torso, turn it upside down, maneuver it into my small sink, refill it, cap it, then try to plop it back onto the base without spilling any water. I've gotten better at it, but it is a nuisance. However, my toddler loves the penguin and enjoys taking the head off and putting it back on.Product Review: Amazing...

its amazing for medium size rooms..only downside is filling water for every 10 hours. i wish they have bigger one which runs atleast 24 to 30 hours for single filling.
