Product Review: I really liked it....when it worked.

I bought this item for my nursery and at first, I really liked it. It worked well and I tried to clean it as directed. However, it stopped working after 4 or 5 weeks. The reason, though, could be my fault because I was carrying it while full. But my husband doesn't think it's my fault. We could take it to an authorized somebody to fix it, but that would probably cost more than I paid for it. I'm without a humidifier now, but I liked that this one was easy to clean (no filter), lasted about two days without needing to be filled, and was really cute. My baby loved to look at it.Product Review: It works but not efficient.. Update: Fan stopped after a winter's use

Pros: Cute design and easy to feed with 1 gallon tank.
Cons: No separate power button. Have to twist the knob each to time turning on and off and make adjustment. Output is not sufficient for a room larger than 100 sq feet. No carbon filter (i.e., better fill it with pre-filtered water).
In general, it is more of a fancy looking decor than efficient humidifier.
Update:
After 5 months use the fan stopped and no more mist comes out. Contacting manufacturer for service ....

I like this product very much. I bought a defective one, which is very noise, because of the problem of the fan. However, they exchange an excellent one in a week. It is very very quite, and effective to make room humid. I am very appreciate to introduce it to all my friends. Colorado is very dry, it give me the comfortable sleep. I researched several humidifiers before deciding on this one and I'm so glad I did. I was so frustrated with the others I had as they were so loud and buying new filters every few weeks was ridiculous! These Crane's (I ended up buying two more after I was so pleased with the first) are truly whisper quiet and do not use a filter. I let them soak in vinegar water every few days to keep them clean. I am eight months pregnant and bought this humidifier for my baby's nursery. I received this product just in the nick of time! A few days after it arrived, I caught an AWFUL head cold, which included a terrible case of night-time congestion. I felt immediate relief from the moment my husband plugged-in our new "Cow" and aimed it's ear at me (the steam comes out of both ears). I was able to breathe all night in comfort without congestion, a dry throat or dry nasal passages. I ran the cow on its highest setting and the water lasted until morning. This item is better than I anticipated and I would highly recommend it to anyone. One more thing, this unit is blissfully QUIET.
