Customer Review: Conair must be unclear on the meaning of "massage"

I received this in an office gift swap. I thought, "great! I'd love a neck massage from time to time!" Installing the batteries was easy enough, just unzip the cushion until you get to the battery compartment (which is halfway around the neck rest). I sat back, nestled into the little packet of sytrofoam beads, and turned it on.
I lasted about a minute. The vibration is very strong...too strong, in fact. I felt like I was going to end up with "shaken adult syndrome". I actually started to feel a little motion sickness, which surprised me because I'm not prone to motion sickness of any kind. There was no massage...all this did was vibrate my skull via my neck. Everyone else in the house agreed with me - this will not relax you at all. The vibrations are way too strong. The elastic strap will indeed give you a snug fit...too snug. It's better to either lean back against it or just hold on to it, at least as long as you can stand it.
The only possible use for this, if you're a woman, is to sit on it and use it as a vibrator. I can't say how well it would work like that though, and if that's what you're looking for you're better off with Wahl 4120-200 Two Speed All-Body Massager in Pharmacy Box, at least judging from the reviews.
And if you really want a neck massage, pony up a few extra bucks for the Homedics NMS-350A Shiatsu Neck Massager with Vibration and Heat. I don't know how well it works but it can't be worse than this thing.
