Product Reviews of Conair HP15RB Moist King-Size Heating Pad with Automatic Off

Product Review: A+ for the Auto-Off
Summary: 4 Stars

Turns off after 2 hours, and keeps you warm. I have not used it on the 'Moist' setting -- only the dry setting. As a result of this heating pad's capability to be used with moist heat, the exterior that forms the pad is plastic, and not all that comformable to body shape.

I know that this is not supposed to be done, but -- as a result of this heating pad's ability to turn off after 2 hours -- I have used it for sleeping (I am always cold, and always in search of a good warming product, be it coats or sleeping pads). It works quite well for this usage, but I would not recommend people do this (as conair distinctly warns against this on the warning label, and it could turn out to be rather hazardous for your health).

My impression of the 3 heat settings is listed below:
1)Low: pretty weak. If you only intend to use this setting, you have more chance at freezing to death than getting any good out of the heating pad.
2)Medium: my favorite and all-time standard. This is just the right amount of heat to keep you warm, whether you 1) have your period, 2) have an extremely cold apartment, and just want to keep your feet warm, or 3) are laboring under the mistaken belief that you are freezing to death as you try to fall to sleep at night.
3)High: a little too toasty for me. As I mentioned earlier, I (wrongly) use this heating pad to fall asleep. I placed this pad on high and put it down next to my socked and frigid feet, and prepared to doze off...then, 15 minutes later, found that I couldn't, for my feet were just a little TOO warm; I was afraid of waking with 2nd degree burns if I let things progress as they were. To compensate, I switched the heating pad down to low, and woke in the morning with ice-blocks for feet.

I gave this product 4 stars for the Medium setting, which is "just right"...but have since stopped using this to sleep with. Do you know what works better than a heating pad? Answer: Down does. (I am referencing feather down.) In order to stay warm at night, I now use a feather bed and feather comforter, which works much better than a heating pad, and naturally keeps your temperature warm and regulated through the night. (That is, if you are not allergic.)

Product Review: BIG Disappointment
Summary: 1 Stars

This heating pad is oversize but undernourished. It heats very slowly and never gets nearly as hot as others. All but useless!

Product Review: BUNCHED UP
Summary: 2 Stars

The heating pad heats alright and shuts off if you leave it on too much, however, when your putting it
behind you for your back it bunches up. Since this is what I use is it for the most, the heating pad
is a mess it's so bunched up I have to try and straighten it each time I use it now. Wouldn't recommend
it to anybody.

Product Review: CONAIR HEATING PADS
Summary: 3 Stars

THE ONE FEATURE ABOUT THE ITEMS IS THAT IT AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF. PLUS THE SECOND THING IS THE LENGTH. BUT ONE THING I DONT LIKE ABOUT IT IS THAT WHEN ITS NOT ON IT GETS ALL ROLLED UP AND HARD. BUT THE THIRD THING I LIKE ABOUT IT WAS THE PRICE. IT SAVED ME $16.00 BECAUSE U DIDNT CHARGE ME S&H. THANK I JUST WISH THERE WAS A WAY THAT THE PLASTICWOULDNT ROLL UP AND GET HARD WHEN NOT IN USE. THANK U JANICE AYERS

Product Review: ConAir King Size Heating Pad with Auto-Shutoff
Summary: 1 Stars

My old heating pad broke and it have served me well. I used it as a foot warmer especially in cold seasons such as winter. I put on thick socks but that does not help at all and I hate wearing socks too. I've tried warm slippers but still didn't help. Then I tried the heating pad and it is perfect for warming my cold feet!

Anyways, after my old heating pad broke I got this ConAir heating pad. Do not get this heating pad, ConAir sucks. Get sunbeam brand instead. I tried this heating pad and set it to high and it wasn't warm enough. Also I tried to warm up the heating pad for 1 hour and still doesn't get any hotter at all, still stays the same. Do not get this product, I tried it. and now I am returning it back for a refund....
