A little more than 5 years ago, received a similar model as a Father's Day Gift. It died. Searched brick and mortar stores for more than a month and could not find one. Was told it was a "speciality" item -- carried only around Christmas & Father's Day. Ordered this online. Shipped promptly and works great.

Hot lather softens beard so your whiskers can be shaved close with less irritation. The Conair Hot Lather Machine is designed for easy one-handed use. It heats up in approximately 1 minute, and works with standard size or large size shaving cream cans (Patent pending bottom plate adjusts for easy fit).This is not a gadget for the guy who's nostalgic for the days of soap bowls and shaving brushes. Shake your can of shaving foam, slide it into this 9-inch-high unit, and a minute later it will dispense preheated lather right into your hand. The warm lather feels better on your skin and softens hair for a smoother, closer shave. It works with most standard-size (11- or 14.75-ounce) foam cans but is not intended for use with shaving gel. --Richard Farr
