Product Review: Try Apple Cider Vinegar instead
Summary: 1 Stars

I had two warts on my index finger for 7 years, and I only focused on getting rid of the largest one. I must have very stubborn warts because I tried this product, duct tape, the liquid wart remover, and the black dots. I tried the Freeze Off maybe twenty times, and each time the wart returned a little larger than before. I got more aggressive with the treatments, and the last time I left the Freeze Off applicator on my wart for 2 minutes using a double dose of the freezing solution. I had to hold ice on my finger for a couple of hours to relieve the pain. Two weeks later, I peeled off the dried up blister and repeated the painful process. I thought I had done permanent damage to my finger it hurt so badly. But a month later, everything looked fine and my wart returned in the shape of a "C", which meant I at least did some damage to one side of my wart. Before I tried it again, my niece told me she tried a home remedy of apple cider vinegar applied to her wart with a cotton ball held in place with a bandaid each night for a week. I tried it, and MY WARTS ARE GONE. My son tried it too (He's had his warts for 9 years.), and his warts are now gone as well. Who knew apple cider vinegar would work better than all these expensive wart removal products? The apple cider did irritate my wart, then turned it white, then turned it purple, then it eventually peeled off. Amazing!!!! I just wanted someone out there to know.

Product Review: Try Garlic or Apple Cider Vinegar instead
Summary: 1 Stars

Okay, nobody likes to talk about warts, but unfortunately they are part of life. And when you do get one you are desperate for advice on how to get rid of them. Well, let me tell you up front: Do not waste your money on this product or similar Freeze off products. They didn't work for me at all.

I had a small wart for about one year on the bottom of my foot and I tried to freeze it off at least a dozen times. I followed the instructions exactly and even increased the amount of time you are supposed to freeze the wart. Every time the wart came back or more likely it never actually disappeared. Well, two weeks ago I looked up some home remedies for warts and I learned about garlic and apple cider vinegar. At first I tried a fresh slice of garlic that I taped on top of the wart and left in place overnight. The next morning the wart looked black so I knew something had happened. I applied garlic during two other nights and then I switched over to apple cider vinegar (you don't have to do that, both remedies are said to work well on their own) So during the second week I put some apple cider vinegar on a small cotton piece and put it on the wart covering it with a bandaid. I did that for 3 nights and after that the wart simply fell off when I rubbed it with a tissue. I still can't believe how easy it was to get rid of a wart when I wasted so much time and money with these freeze off products.

Product Review: Use Compound W to Freeze Warts Away
Summary: 4 Stars

Compound W Freeze Off, (like Scholl's Freeze Away) is a new over-the-counter means to treat warts. In the past, only an MD could use liquid nitrogen in the treatment of warts. Now the consumer can use the same technology to treat warts at home. At around 20 dollars for a kit (that has 12 treatment applicators), this is a quick and relatively inexpensive means to treat warts. A typical doctor's office co-pay is around 20 - 25 dollars, so this kit is as cost-effective as a doctor's visit, without the hassle of having to go the doctor. I have treated several warts at home with this system with mixed results. Some warts have been eliminated with one treatment (the wart sheds in about 2 weeks). Other warts have been more resistant to treatment and have required multiple treatments, the treatments being 2-3 weeks apart.

In using this system, I have found some treatment tips I would like to share. First, I think it is essential to cut off the top surface of the wart as much as possible. This thins the wart and allows it to freeze deeper, killing the infected cells more thoroughly. Use a sharp scalpel, an emory board, or even sandpaper. Remember that the shavings from the wart may be infective. Second, the treatment time is critical for success. The instructions cite treatment time of 10-20 seconds for most warts, with up to 40 seconds for plantar (sole of feet) warts. The thicker the skin and thicker the wart, the longer you want to hold the cryotherapy tip against the wart. Unsuccessful therapy generally means that the treatment time was not long enough. The goal of cryotherapy is to freeze the wart virus and kill it. Expect the treatment to hurt (sometimes a little - sometimes a lot, depending on where the wart is). After charging the tip with the can, place it against the wart for the amount of time recommended in the instructions. It will "sizzle" as it contacts the wart, and this is desirable, for you want the tip to be cold so that the treated surface turns a frosted white. When you remove the tip from the wart, the surface will be white and frozen, but will quickly warm and become red. It may hurt for minutes to several hours. While the box indicates that only one treatment is necessary, I have found most warts require 1 or more treatments, with 2 - 3 weeks between each treatment. Healing of the frozen surface takes about 1-2 weeks with the hopeful end result that the wart falls off. Generally there is little or no scarring. If the treatment time is longer or you are treating a larger wart, a blister may form. If the blister breaks, be diligent to clean the area to prevent the spread of the wart virus. Avoid contact with the fluid in the blister, as it likely contains wart virus which can infect other areas.

There are three main ways to treat warts: cryotherapy, liquid salicylic acid therapy, and duct tape therapy. All these usually work if applied consistently. Cryotherapy offers no clear advantages over the liquid wart removal (salicylic acid), except that it is quicker and less of a mess. Duct tape therapy (taping the wart for 7 days straight) seems to be just as effective as any other therapy. It is certainly cheap, but the main disadvantage is treating warts in sightly areas such as the fingers, hands or face.

I like cryotherapy for warts for its ease of therapy. If you want to get rid of a wart as quickly as possible, give this treatment a try.

For the person who wishes more information on warts see below:

Warts are caused by the Human Papilomavirus. HPV enters the body in an area of broken skin. The virus causes the top layers of the infected skin to grow rapidly, producing a wart. The body has a hard time eliminating warts because warts hide in our own cells where the immune system cannot find or recognize them as being foreign. However, over time, sometimes years, the immune system finally "discovers" the wart virus and produces anti-bodies against it. At this point, all the warts are attacked and eliminated.

Warts can occur anywhere on the body. There are many different kinds of warts. "Common warts" appear most often on the hands, but they may appear anywhere on the body. They are rough, gray-brown, dome-shaped growths. "Plantar warts" occur on the bottom of the feet, are hard, thick patches of skin with dark specks inside the growth.

Flat warts are found on the face, arms, or legs. They are small (about 2-4 mm in diameter), have flat surfaces. and are pink, light brown, dark brown, or skin-colored yellow.

Filiform warts are generally found around the mouth, on or in the nose, or in the beard area. They are flesh-colored with jagged fingerlike edges.

Periungual warts are found under and around the toenails and fingernails. They appear as rough, irregular bumps. These warts are very painful to treat as the fingers are very sensitve with lots of nerve endings.

Genital warts occur on the genitals, around the anus, within the rectum or vagina, or on the cervix. Don't use cryotherapy or salicylic therapy on genital warts - consult with an MD.

Product Review: WASTE OF MONEY

It's doesn't work. Gives u more warts.

i had a wart on my right pointer finger for a very long time.when i started gettin smaller warts near it, i decided to get rid of them. so i tried some of the wart removal medicated bandaids and freezing methods available in the market,in vain. After that i consulted my doc, he suggested freezing it. i had to go at least 6 times to the doc for completeley removing one wart. But Alas! after two weeks the wart started coming back. In between i tried some homeopathic medicines also. Finally when i was about to give up i happened to read about "warts no more extra strength" on the internet and also saw some good reviews. So thought of giving it a try. I was supposed to apply it 2-3 times a day for 5 week. Towards the end of the treatment the wart started shrinking and within a few days it disappeared. It's been 2-3 months, and wart hasn't come back. Warts no more extrastrength has been really effective for me.

Product Review: WORKS GREAT!
Summary: 5 Stars

This products works, after trying endless wart removal acids whatever else there is on the market I tried this do it yourself freeze kit. At first I tried following the instructions carefully, wetting the wart, freezing the stick with the canister for 5 seconds and then applying for 40 seconds, immedietly after I realized that this is not enough, I have had a pea size wart on my index finger for over a year now and this bastard had to be frozen all the way back to the ice ages. To get the best result take a long hot bath and when your done your skin will be pretty wet and soft, freeze the stick for 7 seconds, wait another 15 seconds and then apply and hold onto the wart for atleast 2 minutes even if it hurts or burns just keep going. I have done this about 7 times during the last 2 weeks and the bastard has gotten significantly smaller about 2/3 the size of what it was and it's healing up pretty well.

So forget the intructions and apply for as long/as many times as you can until the thing dies, It will burn and ache a bit and the skin will wound but after a few weeks this can be removed with a scalp and fresh skin will appear underneath.
