Customer Review: Basic, but a good price and better than nothing

It's hard to find a heated back pad with an AC adapter for use with a wall plug at home (as opposed to car use only). This does the job if you aren't looking for a massage as well.
Some reviewers have found the heat either too much or not enough; I haven't had a problem with it. (News flash: if your aim is a pain-free back, you shouldn't be sitting for very long anyway.)
The story is different if you're looking for a good massage. As another reviewer has said, this offers only a mild vibration and is really useless as a massage. Some reviewers also complain that this is a convex block, not a "cushion," which is true, but if you can position it right, it does offer good lumbar support along with the heat. My problems with it have been that (1) I use a task chair with a vertically-adjustable back, and the cushion will slide down into the space between the back of the chair and the seat unless you put something there to block it (one solution: a kitchen cutting board). (2) If you yank (or trip) on the cord hard enough and often enough, it will come out at the plug-in end and/or eventually fray at the adapter end, thereby substantially shortening product life. (3) If you tighten the cloth ribbon that secures the pad to a wheeled task chair to the point that it gets yanked on a lot when the chair moves, the fabric will eventually tear away from the pad where the ribbon goes in.
Bottom line: imperfect, but until someone comes up with a better home heating cushion with lumbar support, even at a higher price, I'm hooked. Or stuck.
