I purchased this when first getting into straight razors because I didn't know what I was doing. I would even go so far to say that this is exactly who this product is geared towards -- the uninformed. It WILL put a crude edge on your razor (if you know what you're doing) but can just as easily permanently damage your razor. I will keep for knife sharpening, but it will not touch my new Dovo.
PROS
-Cheap, can be used for honing practice on a cheap, practice razor.
CONS
-Not useful for serious honing on serious shavers.
-Way too narrow (even for cross motion honing).
