Product Review: You better have BIG HANDS to use this comfortably !!!!

A well made stick that does the job, BUT!!!! you need to have big hands to walk with it comfortably.
The head on this, and the African Stick are both LARGE and after using it for 30 minutes my hand felt as if it had a cramp.
If you have large hands both of these sticks would be great, they are well made and more then sturdy enough for walking and defense if need be.
They do however look like what they are made of, a type of plastic material so no one will mistake them for a real wood product.
I'm going to tone mine with an acrylic Brown Umber paint wash to simulate a wooden stick.
A rubber tip is a must or you will eventually slip using either one of these sticks.

I was very excited about ordering this walking stick. I have Irish blood and the story behind it interested me (see [...]) It arrived quickly and looks just like the picture but the walking stick is a disappointment. It is far too bulky (it could be a third or half as wide and be very functional) and the grip is not very comfortable at all (as noted in other reviews). Plus the first time I touched it to our laminate floors, it was like I was on an ice rink. No rubber non-sliding tip. So it's bulkier than I imagined it, it's my own fault for ordering it, but I assumed that it would be more serviceable. Sure it would be a great defensive weapon but it's not so comfortable for a disabled man to use day to day to get around with. I am going to buy a rubber tip for it and give it some more time. I won't return it because, as I said, I like the background on it. I even bought one for my dad based on the origin of the stick... [...]. Cool concept, not so great product.Product Review: stick

For what it is a shillelagh[club?]; it maybe good. At 5'7" it seems to thick and a wee long. Since I can't run and being older[70+] I do recommend it to carry where dogs run free or other dangers exsist. I will keep it as a counter point to my lighter walking sticks.Product Review: this is .......

for sale by "COLD STEEL" I'm not at all surprised.
The Cold Steel Irish Blackthorn Walking Stick is very stout in it's
construction and as well as adding stability to one while standing and/or
walking, I've no doubt that it would prove to be quite the "equalizer"
to the wielder in a physical confrontation.
As is typical of COLD STEEL products, this walking stick is 1st rate,
top notch and I have NO reservations in HIGHLY recommending this product!
