These were a huge help during a recent marathon - but I have to say that by the end I was ready to not taste one for several weeks. Might have helped to switch up flavors or something I guess - anyway I could totally tell when they kicked in a few minutes after eating them each time. Getting the package open was a little tough, but once you had an opening then they could be rather easily squeezed out one at a time. Running partner and I split 4 of them during the race and each had a powergel gel pack.
