Product Review: Great for a busy grad student

Being stuck in a lab for several hours a day, I prefer Clif Bars since they are much healthier than other lab snacks (like coffee and donuts) and are low maintenance---I can stick them in my backpack and it doesn't matter if they get smashed and they don't melt. I bought this product as a small meal suppliment. I live alone and don't often cook for myself so these work out great, They do keep my energy level higher (I am in my late 60's) and ward off hunger. During my strenuous outdoor activities, hiking, XC Skiing, biking, canoeing and kayaking, I'm always looking for packable, tasty energy bars. I really like the Clif bar variety pack. The price per bar is pretty reasonable compared to others and I like the taste. Taste is pretty subjective though so I can't say for sure that -you- will like them as much as I do, but I do like them a lot.
Another bar that I like is the Larabar and in particular the Cherry Pie flavor. Larabar Fruit & Nut Food Bar, Cherry Pie, 1.7-Ounce Bars (Pack of 16)
One thing about the Clif bar though is if you are packing these in an outside pocket, during the winter, they get as hard as a rock. I found that out during a recent XC Skiing expedetition. I usually try to keep edibles a little bit closer to my body to keep them warmer, but this time I had the Clif bars in an outside pocked and when it was time for my energy boost, I had to gnaw the thing. It's not a complaint, just a heads-up.
Good bars. Mostly organic (like 70%) and lots of protein.
