Product Review: Yummy, but a little messy

I'm a big fan of clif bars. At less than $1 a bar with free shipping, the Mint Chocolate was the best value I have found anywhere. The bar taste great. I am very active and like the fact that clif bars have a little extra calories and sugar to give me the energy I need. I use it as a meal replacement, afternoon snack, pre workout/race energy, and have even eaten them on some of my long 40+ mile bike rides.
The only reason that I didn't give it 5 starts is because the mint glaze melts a little in warm weather and would make my fingers sticky, especially since I often leave some bars in the car for long periods of time.
Also, be advised that the mint chocolate flavor has about 50mg of caffeine (equivalent to a cup of green tea). So you might not want to get this flavor if you already have a decent amount of caffeine in your diet.

I love chocolate candy bars. I can't get enough of snickers.
Who would of thought chocolate in health bars would be great?
I bought clif before at costco and didn't have a pleasant experience having to finish them. Couple of them expired because I just don't like them. The ones I bought from costco were chocolate chip and peanut butter. Peanut butter is alright but peanut always leaves a smoky cardboard after taste.
I thought I might give clif bar another try with cool mint chocolate instead of just chocolate. maybe the mint will add some flavoring.
So I had to buy a 24 ct here at amazon. I got it today..man it just taste the same just with a bit of mint. hard to swallow. I realize now that chocolate in health bars uses those of unsweetened cocoa powder in baking...not those of swiss hot chocolate. Have you tried unsweetened cocoa powder? it just has a bitter taste. Think of dark chocolate candy without the sweetness.
I had zone bars and powerbar chocolate flavors and they all taste just the same.
I know not to buy any chocolate flavor health bars again.
Yes, I know everyone has their own preferences and taste but if you're like me who loves snickers/kit kat/baby ruth / herseys/ godiva then you probably won't like chocolate health bars in general.
That said doesn't mean clif bars are bad. I just received a 12 ct on White chocolate and macadamia nuts. "chocolate" here isn't cocoa powder. Just a fancy name for cream & sugar mixed together like icing on a cake. MAN I LOVE IT. I finished it 4 days (I used them as meal replacement and not snacks). So I would eat 2 during lunch. Gets me full and energized!
So I guess I went for the mint chocolate thinking it would be different. Nope ..health bar chocolate is just plain difficult to enjoy.
I was going to order Oatmeal and raisin but I don't want to commit to 24 ct if I don't like it. I went to Walmart and picked up a 6 pack oatmeal and raisin for $6. A smaller pack is better just in case I don't like it. Turns out the oatmeal and raisin is great.
anyways just saying that chocolate flavor health bars are just not that great. If they were, then I would choose never to eat snickers and kit kat anymore.
Go to your grocery store and try one flavor . That's what I should have done. If some flavors arent available like chocolate mint (couldn't find it at walmart) Just stay away from chocolate health bars
Product Review: cliff bars

While they may not have the best appearance, they do have a remarkably
good taste that closely approximates "the real thing" in terms of
flavor. When you open the package, the aroma is also quite close to
the actual flavor.
I use to use PowerBars. These taste much better, and have more
nutritional value.
Since I often have to use these in lieu of a proper lunch and sometimes
even dinner (especially when traveling) I wish that they had 100% of the
various vitamins and minerals required each day. At least they have some
unlike other brands.
They do have a fair amount of fat, but at least it is not trans or saturated.
I do recommend these as the best choice of such "bars and supplements"
currently available.

While a Clif Bar is just not as satisfying as a gourmet meal, it does wonders for me when I need a little boost between meals. Unlike a lot of the other products of its type, Clif Bars tend to be more palatable and just plain enjoyable than most. (They also have more fiber.) The cool mint flavor is probably my favorite among the many options they put out. I enjoy their peanut-varieties too, for example, but after a while I just find that an old-fashioned PB&J is a lot tastier and not too hard to make, either. The chocolate varieties are similarly good, but just no substitute for "real" chocolate. The cool mint bar, on the other hand, is sui generis -- I can't think of anything quite like it that I'd prefer to have. It's just a cut above other clif bars, which is saying a lot.Product Review: yummy

these are great tasting but i do agree with what other people have written, i wish there wasnt as much sugar as there is in them. I am a Clif Bar fan though.
