Customer Review: Amazon Purchase By Mistake

A friend had a pair of reading glasses that hung from your neck and separated in front with a magnet. I decided to research the glasses and found them on Amazon. I wanted to know the total cost of the item with shipping costs so went to the final basket to view the cost. A few minutes later I received a confirmation email that I had purchased this item. I tried for 30 or 45 mintues to try and canel the order but could not get the item cancelled or find a phone number to get help from an Amazon person.
This is the first time I have investigated a purchase on the internet that I was not asked for my credit card numbers and confirmed my order. From a previous purchase on Amazon, you have my credit card number and used it to complete this purchased without me really knowing it. I have made a lot of purchases on the internet and as a repeat customer to several but always have to provide the credit card number. I was not asked for my number this time.
As for the process of ordering from Amazon, it went very smooth and I received the item in good time. THe color and strength of the reading glasses was not what I would have ordered because both were not some my wife would use and could see clearly. Other than the automatic order for me, your process works well. I will, however, have to return the item. I have not returned it yet as we had a very bad ice storm just after receiving the item and lost power for 12 days and it put us behind on a lot of things for Christmas trying to keep warm in freezing weather the the power was out.
