I have been looking for cotton balls for years, since the economy went to heck all the stores i go to no longer seem to have them. (I suppose its just too much of a luxury item). I found myself buying more and more bottles of aspirin just to get the cotton out of the bottle. Its been a bit expensive that way but I read aspirin daily is good for the heart so i now take a lot of it and also frequently give them out as gifts. I have found I am saving quite a bit of money now and I can use the money to cover my multiple doctor bills apparently my blood is too thin so the cotton balls really come in handy!
