I love this product! It feels cool when you lie down on it. Instead of putting it in the case with my pillow, I put it in a seperate case and laid it on top of it. It is stiff, compared to the pillow, and I would wake up in the middle of the night and remove it in order to sleep better. Also, if you have sensitive hearing, the squishing sound it makes (it's like a mini-waterbed) can be bothersome. But overall, it works great and I recommend it to anyone who wants something cool. Chillow starts out cool, as advertised, but quickly warms up to body temperature, so that if you need the coolness in the middle of the night, it is already gone. This Chillow has to be the most garbage product I have ever bought on Amazon, and I've bought a lot of stuff on Amazon. I would probably return this if I could. I followed every single direction for this Chillow and it does feel cool. Initially. But the Cool feeling does not last and goes away in less than an hour. I guess the bodyheat my head produces overwhelms even this Chillow. Now it's just sitting on the side of my bed like the five pound bag of water that it is. Product Review: Love it

I absolutely love my chillow. I am replacing mine after about 3 years of frequent use. (The only reason I need to replace it now is because my dog punctured it.) I keep my chillow in the refrigerator. I do sometimes put it in the freezer (I know you are not supposed to), but I try to make sure I take it out before it becomes frozen.
I sleep with the soft, reusable type ice packs every night. Using the chillow, also, helps keep the ice packs cold throughout the entire night. My chillow has really helped with the migraines I get frequently. I don't think I would be able to sleep at night if I did not have my ice packs or chillow. I recently visited family, and they do not have central a/c -- just a couple window units. The room I slept in was pretty warm. I remembered to bring my chillow with me and it really paid off.
Thankfully, I will be able to receive mine from Amazon quickly with 2 day shipping, so I won't be without it for very long.
I also get Canine Coolers (same concept) for my dog. I had a dog in the past with an illness that caused her to be hot. I tried the Canine Cooler out of desperation, and it really worked. My current dog loves it, too. They are bigger than the Chillow but have a stronger exterior. I put a pillow case (made a "pillow case" out of a flat sheet for the medium size one), because the canine cooler does not have the soft side like the Chillow does.
My dog and I are definitely Chillow fans!!!
Product Review: Starts Cool, Ends Very Hot

The Chillow, like many other reviewers have pointed out, feels great at first. But it only takes an hour or so for it to warm up past your own body temperature. I ended up putting it in a seperate pillow case on top of my pillow so I could shove it off in the middle of the night.
