Product Review: Great Product!

I purchased the Chillow about a month ago. I had been looking for something besides an ice pack or a cool,damp face cloth to use for the occasional "night sweats". It is an easy first time set-up and I used it that very night. Ahhh, it felt great on my face and chest area. Instant relief! I tend to "internally combust" a few times a month. There is nothing worse then having to run down to the fridge and stand in front of an open freezer door at 2am.
The plastic smell is very mild and does not bother me as others have reported. I use just a regular pillowcase and that seems to work well. If it does gets crinkled, you can release the valve and adjust the insert. Not a big deal.
With the summer months ahead, I see using the Chillow more often. My husband loves the heat and if he had his way-the AC would never go on. Me, I like a cool and crisp environment when I go off to sleep.
The only reason I did not give the Chillow 5 stars is that it will not last the entire night. I do have a chair by the bed and simply place it on the seat for awhile. It does get cool again quick for reuse if you need it.

My wife gave me this wonderful gift and I absolutely love it! Some nights I sweat a lot (!!!), so this is actually pretty helpful and definitely has a nice cooling effect! I sleep very warm. While my wife loves this, with any regular pillow I wake up with a sweaty warm pillow. I flip it over and that side proceeds to do the same thing. I bought the chillow in hopes that it would help with this and keep my head cool all night. WHat I quickly found out is that it kept my head cool for the first few hours, but half way through the night I woke up to a warm clammy plasticy even more unpleasant feel against my face. I tried cooling it before going to bed, that just made it too cold to start, but eventually it got warm again too. What would be ideal is a chillow with a water cooling system like my old gaming PC had. something where the water is continually cooled. This is not that product and I have quit using my chillow. For as much as it cost, I really expected a better way for it to dissipate the heat.Product Review: Great for hot flashes

Love it! I Keep this at the head of my bed, and when I get a hot flash at night, I just slip it under my head, and it cools me right down. This is my 3rd chillow in about 5 years, unfortunately they do end up with pinhole leaks, and are difficult to patch. I absolutely love my chillow during a hotflashes when I'm in bed. I just drape it over my chest for instant relief. It cools me down quickly enough that the heat doesn't rise all the way up to my face and head. I am so disappointed that after 1 year it has developed pinhole leaks. I've become dependent on it, so if the duct tape and packing tape patches don't work, I will probably replace it.
