Seems to be more accurate on the first use after it has been off for a while, but if you check again, the temperature usually climbs. I have gotten readings which vary by 6 degrees from the same ear over a period of one minute. This is a piece of junk. Also irritating if you use fahrenheit requiring a reset every time you turn it on.

SFO Infrared ear thermometer is a great thermometer. It can be used for infants, kids and children. There is no reason it cannot be used for adults. Great product. It comes with a hard case for convenient storate and travel.Product Review: Needs Improvement

Things I would change about this product:
1)Keep the digital panel light on during the entire time you are trying to use it. I am in my daughters dark room, trying not to wake her up too much, but I can's see anything on the results panel. The light goes out while you are trying to get a temp.
2)More intuitive buttons. This thing beeps so many times you can't figure out what it is supposed to be telling you. Very confusing.
3)Clearer instructions on the results panel. The programing is ridiculous. I'm in the dark trying to get a reading from my fussy baby and the light goes out so I can't see if the F symbol is flashing or not so that I can try to take a temp. Aaah!
Very disapointed in this product. You've got something here, but you need to go back to the drawing board.
Consumer suggestion: Look for something better.
