The day I saw the commercial on television and realized it wasn't a spoof, I HAD to have this item. The "determined" expression makes me smile every time I see it... It's hard to keep enough water to make the seeds grow on top, since the clay evaporates a lot of the moisture before it makes it all the way up; but that is an inherent problem with the Chia pets. I just saw the commercial for this "item" and I must say I was in shock to say the least. I actually thought that the Chia pet commercial had cut into a another commercial (perhaps for a commemorative coin, or something.) Considering the fact that the Chia Pet commercial before this one, was for a "Cat toy version." At one point I had to check the date and time to make sure that it wasn't Saturday Night Live or a something. lol
For those of you who don't see this as being a racist, I respect your opinion, but ask yourself this... Have we ever had a Chia Pet for a LIVE President, who was currently in office before??? Correct me if I'm wrong, cause I'm not a Chia Pet collector and neither will I be at this point.
If nothing else, it's distasteful, insensitive and DISRESPECTFUL of the man, his family and the OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.
This man has children, how would you like it if your child walked into a friends house and saw a Chia Pet version of you on the coffee table?
Nothing is sacred in the country anymore. Strangers will video tape you, take your pic out in public and post it online, without your knowledge or consent.

It's a Chia "PET" for crying out loud! Barack Obama is a MAN.
Oh, and by the way.... He's STILL the President of the United States of America!

I purchased the Chia Obama as a "gag" Christmas gift for my brother. It was a waste of money. After a few days, a mold started growing on it and the seeds never sprouted and died. He had to throw it away.
