First thing I must note, when I bought the product, the product images clearly showed a bag of some sort.
However, when I recieved it in the mail, it was in a wide screw top plastic bottle. I really wanted the bag
so I could test it, buy the five gallon, and refill the little cloth bag. Nope.
However, the soap itself is great. Just like it says, you only need a little bit. Would recommend it. Except that the picture is misleading.

I've been using Charlie's Soap for almost 3 years now, for cloth diapers and for my regular laundry. I'm happy with how it cleans, but it doesn't seem to work better than regular detergent for regular laundry.
We've never had any rashes from it, as some people have, even with our mildly sensitive skin. My diapers need stripping from time to time, but I suppose all diapers do, no matter what detergent you use.
I miss the fragrance that comes with conventional detergent, but that's something I sacrifice for the health and quality reasons.
The only real complaint I have it that it does cake if there's any moisture in the air. I had to break some up with a hammer a few weeks ago.

My infant son has eczema and after changing several food and hygiene products we narrowed the cause down to the laundry detergent I was using. This product is fantastic! We've been using the commercial product for many years and lately we've found that the soap leaves a film behind in the machine that smells like mildew or something. Our son has been using Charlie's Soap for some time and talked us into using it. Found it on Amazon.com and it does everything that it claims to do. The mildew smell is now gone, and our clothes come out cleaner than the commercial product. Don't need bleach with Charlie's Soap, nor is fabric softner needed. Charlie's Soap is the best. No hazardous synthetic scents or chemicals. If you are using "fabric softener" or "dryer sheets", please stop using that poison on your clothing. You are contaminating your body, and the neighborhood with scented chemicals coming out of your dryer vent that are toxic to everyone else.
If the whole country just used Charlie's soap, and occasionally rinsed with white vinegar if they really feel that they want "softener", the U.S. pollution would be decreased overnight. I am convinced that the popular scented and even unscented laundry products at Walmart and grocery stores, is toxic. Causes asthma, rashes, headaches, migraine, ADD (I experience that just smelling the neighbors' laundry scent) and probably a host of other health problems. The synthetic scents are known to be endocrine disruptors - wonder why this whole country is now so fat? Duh.
