This product was recommended to me by someone in my weight management program. It is very helpful to keep me on track. After months of doing a medically-monitored liquid diet, it was difficult to realize how many calories I began to consume when I added food back to the mix. This allows me to instantly log and view how many calories I have consumed. It helps me make better choices. I can also print out a food log for my program, since monitoring my calorie intake is one of the assignments. I can log a food as a favorite so I can easily use the data again. I can create a custom meal so that I don't have to re-enter all the foods separately if I eat it again. I can tweak the size of what I'm consuming. It has an extensive food data base, or if I can't find what I want there, I can enter it myself from package labels or from researching it on the internet. Then it will be part of my database for the next time. It is extremely handy and accurate. I can also enter the steps from my pedometer and log my exercise minutes/calories. I can print out a variety of reports and charts to help me track my progress. I am very satisfied with this calorie counter. I researched a variety, and this seemed the best for my needs. I bought this product after reading all the wonderful reviews it had (there was one bad one that has mysteriously disappeared since then). But, after one day of use, I was extremely disappointed and ended up returning it the very next day.
At first glance, this looks like nothing more than an old-school calculator (but without calculator functionalities I might add). Its features are just as old and slow as its appearance. I learned quickly that looking up foods was a very slow process, so, I would start my search, do another task for about a minute, and then when I would come back to it, it would have already turned itself off leaving me to start the search all over again.
The summaries displayed are not very helpful either. I like to look at my food journal and see the food and calories for the entire day displayed at once, which is not a view this had.
Overall, I would strongly recommend that rather than getting this you look for some nutrition software for your PC that can be downloaded to your iPhone or Blackberry, or just use it on your PC which I what I ended up doing.

It takes a little while to get used to inputting data; however, if you stay with it, it will enable you to keep track of all your calories for the day. I love the one touch button that gives you the daily run down.Product Review: Well worth it!

I bought this product a few weeks ago and it has proven very helpful in my weight loss. Rather than just writing down that I ate 4 cookies, I can see exactly what that looks like from a nutritional standpoint--not very good! It only took a few days of recording my food intake to find out I don't eat enough protein. There are so many restaurants included so you don't need to guess what the nutritional content is when you go out somewhere. I highly recommend this product to people trying to lose weight or become more aware of what they are eating.
