I put it on the top edge of my kerosene convection heater at 350*F and I can feel a light breeze on my face for about 3 feet and can detect it with a length of toilet paper for a couple feet more as the airstream angles upward. While it does spread the hot air some, the air still rises and ends up against the ceiling anyway. I suppose in a small room it might make a difference but it's really too feeble to be worth the trouble at that temperature. To try something hotter I set my hotplate on the floor and heated it to 450*F and put the ecofan on it and then I got some serious air movement; so consider that to be the practical operating temperature while I consider getting the more expensive gs model for use on my kerosene heater.

A cheap sit-on-top oven thermometer costing 5 or 6 bucks in kitchenwares will give you heater temperatures to 600*F.

We received this a few days before Christmas and put it to use immediately on our living room wood stove. It began turning within a few seconds and pulled the hot air that previously had collected in the fireplace area behind the stove(We have an insert in our old fireplace.)and blew it silently into the room. It keeps the room at a much more even temperature than previously. It turns faster when the stove is hotter and slower as it cools off. It is small enough that I can still put my tea kettle and foot warmer on the stove while it is still there, but large enough to make a difference in the warmth of the room. We love it!
