The ecofan is fun to watch. I knew before I bought that it would barely blow any air around the room, but I wanted it anyway. My stirling cycle fan requires a push to get it started and doesn't blow much air either, but the ecofan starts on it's own. I'm glad that I have this toy.Product Review: Get one and save money

This fan is great. It is small and discreet but really circulates the air. It also doesn't make ANY noise unlike the blower on the wood stove. We use it as an indicator for when to put another log on the fire, too. When the fan slows down-time for more wood! And-it doesn't cost us anything to operate it since it runs off the heat of the fire. Highly recommended.Product Review: Here is a woodstove owner's friend!

This little silent fan is indispensable if you want the full benefit from your wood stove. You put it on the top, build your fire, and as the fire heats the stove top the fan starts to turn, ALL BY ITSELF. Unlike a competitive unit, the Tec, you do NOT have to stand around to give it an airplane-like spin to start it going.
Ecofan will keep on turning & moving air as the fire dies over night, slowing as the stove cools & speeding up when you add a log.
You save wood, too, as you don't have to keep the stove cranked up so high to get heat to the far corners of the area.
I bought the 2 blade fan which is fine for my long room with stove at one end. For a whole house arrangement I would get the 3 blade Ecofan. Costs a bit more but moves 50% more air.
From my experience this winter I highly recommend this product.
