The old design used a wide rubber suction cup head that formed a tight seal and cleared clogs in seconds.
The new design uses a foam head that I have tried and tried to get to form a seal, but it doesn't. No matter how hard I press on it, air (and dirty toilet water) ERUPT out from the side of this foam head, every time. I even experimented on a clean unclogged toilet and was certain to completely cover the drain.
I cannot fathom why they would make a design change that would not only be LESS effective, but COMPLETLEY INEFFECTIVE, thereby rendering the product USELESS. I can only imagine that it must have been some sort of copyright or patent issue... which of course causes all consumers to lose.
One star until they reinstate the original WORKING design.

I tried this product at first and got not much of any improvement.
I found out later tho tht rather than just covering the overflow with a damp cloth it would be more effective to unscrew the cover for the overflow an put the cloth directly in it to clog it. BINGO i went from standin in like a foot of water when i shower to an empty bathtub....this is an amazing product

For years I've struggled to keep my low-flow, low-profile toilets clear flowing. Well this product does the trick without paying a plumber $75 or more. Very simple and seems expensive. Until you start figuring how much you spent for other products. In a very slow draining sink we had tried chemicals, plunger, the long plastic strips, snake - everything but a plumber.
After using the CLR Power Cleaner, one time, the sink drains like new.
Recommended.
