I bought this bug spray to combat the amount of mosquitoes there are in the Alaskan atmosphere, and was pretty pleased with it. I especially liked the scent, which is citrus and zippy, much nicer than your typical lumberjack scented bug repellent. I wouldn't reccomend it to someone canvassing the rain forests, but it's a good basic repellent for daily use or picnics or something where you don't want to smell like you were coated in DEET beforehand. It comes in a cute metal bottle with a spray nozzle, but it doesn't produce a mist of spray, you'll actually apply this more like a handful of tanning oil or lotion, with your hand.Product Review: Doesn't work--actually attracted insects to me

Admittedly, I am one of those people on whom insects, especially mosquitoes and chiggers, love to feast. Even so, regular chemical-based insect repellents such as the lower-DEET content versions of Off work well for me. I tried Burt's Bees repellent as an alternative. What a complete waste of money. Not only did it not repel insects, it actually attracts them to me. I had more bites, more quickly, than wearing no repellent. It's back to DEET-containing products for me. This product is one of several from Burt's Bees that has given me a distrust of the company. (The rash-inducing lettuce soap was the worst; this at least did not make my skin itchy or sore, which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1.)Product Review: Great Product

This is an amazingly effective product and we love the way it smells. We have searched for this everywhere and here at Amazon was the only place we could find it at a reasonable price. I agree with the previous review; it works great for keeping away the biting mosquitoes and flies but the June Bugs and Japanese Beetles seem to like it.
So as long as the beetles bumping into you a bit does bother you, it works great (I much prefer that to the itching and swelling from the bites)

I've been searching for something that I could quickly put on exposed parts of skin when I take the dog for a walk in the evenings. I didn't want anything that smelled terrible and was looking for something as natural as possible. I've been very impressed with this product. I just do one or two quick squirts into my hand and then quickly rub it on exposed parts of skin (face, neck, hands, etc.) A little bit goes a long way! I haven't gotten one mosquito bite since I started using it! It smells great and washes off easily when I get home. All around, a wonderful product! Love Burts Bees!
