Product Review: Wonderful for Baby Eczema

My 5 month old daughter has eczema and most recently, had a bad breakout of skin-colored bumps across her stomach and back which lasted several weeks. I tried all of the products as recommended by her pediatrician, including Eucerin Calming Creme and Cetaphil lotion, as well as Aveeno Baby Wash for Eczema and Aveeno Wash/Shampoo. None of it seemed to help and only aggravated her condition. A friend of mine gave me the Burt's Bees sampler kit for babies and after a week of using the Buttermilk lotion, her rash is completely gone and her skin is smooth and bump free. I highly recommend this lotion (as well as the California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo and Wash). And it smells wonderful, which was surprising to me since I thought that you couldn't use anything with fragrance on babies with sensitive skin and had initially only been looking for fragrance free products. While walking through a store recently, they had this as a sampler. I have sensitive skin and the label looked safe, so I thought that I would try this.
Yikes!!! What an overpowering fragrance! What ever is in this stuff, it was intense. Sensitive skin does NOT mean lightly fragranced or fragrance free. I learned that the hard way, as I had to go to the bathroom to wash my hands. The smell would not go away until I had washed them several times. So, if I am this sensitive to this lotion, I feel sorry for the babies that may come in contact with this stuff.

I have always trusted Burt's Bees products, and I wanted to use a lotion on my toddler that was free from cancer causing agents. I thought it was a good price for the twin pack. The lotion is VERY strong smelling, and I found it a little overpowering for my little one. It is a pleasant smell but just very strong.Product Review: cloying scent, and slightly sticky

This lotion actually moisturizes pretty well, but i can't stand to use it. The fragrance is potent, cloying, and lingers. I feel like i have perfume-bombs on my hands after i use it, i'd never be able to get near my child if i used it on him. I can't even figure out what the smell is, beyond strong and sweet.
And while it moisturizes well, it leaves a slight sticky residue on my skin.
I'm a big fan of Burt's Bees products, but this is one i will not buy again.
