We have had this filter on the tap at our office for 5 years. We have replaced the filter (top part)maybe 10 times; it has an indicator light that turns red when it is time to change. It is a much better option than filling that pitcher. No more going to the fridge and finding that the last person who poured a glass of water out of the pitcher didn't fill it again!
